Course Objective
To train and produce competent Drilling HSE personnel who can manage the affairs of health and Safety in the Oil and Gas Exploration Industry.

This course is endorsed by British Oil and Gas Exploration Limited and Institute of Drilling and Petroleum Engineering (IDPE). IDPE is accredited and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education Nigeria.
Drilling HSE Supervisor Duties:
- Coordinates with Drilling Supervisor and Drilling Support Team (HSE Advisor) to set appropriate objectives for HSE management, Emergency management and implementation.
- Provides coaching on approved HSE programs e.g. STOP program.
- Oversees with Drilling Supervisor, Drilling Service Contractor’s HSE activities.
- Ensures the HSE competence of contractors through evaluation and audits.
- Ensure and support Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments for all site activities.
- Worked with Drilling HSE Advisor to develop annual improvement plans for HSE management.
- Organizes audit programs including coordination and recordkeeping of site audits with Contractor HSE supervisors.
- Conducting site specific safety training as contract required.
- Permit to work system and enforced compliance among the drilling crew.
- Benchmarked EHS programs; conducted company-wide needs analysis; assessed risk; developed strategic plan and obtained executive support to execute.

Course Outline:
The final stage of this course will visit the Rig site courtesy of our industry partner, British Oil and gas explorations Limited. The students will be giving task as required and practical training will be provided by competent HSE professionals at the Rig to integrate classroom and rig experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
Interested candidates should possess minimum HND or BSc in Engineering or sciences. OND with at least two years field experience will be considered.

Obinna Okeke
Obinna is a Graduate of Electrical Engineering and HSE Professional with a top 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas exploration, Deepsea Work-over & Completion Operations. He has astute knowledge in QHSSE Exploration and Workover Operations. He has enjoyed delivery knowledge based trainings for organisations and turning around their HSE system to balance current standards of today’s Health and safety management in the Oil and Gas Industry. He spent many of his time working with Nabors Drilling, Greatwall Drilling Iraq and Greatwall Drilling Abu Dhabi UAE. He is currently HSE Advisor for Greatwall Drilling Rigs GW 164, GW 65 and GW 75.
Obinna is certified OSHA Trainer, Integrated Management system certified Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004 and OHSAS18001:2007. He is a certified quality Engineer and Project Management Professional. He is a consultant for Deslog Energy limited Nigeria.
His goal has always been to create a positive Safety Culture/work environment that will interface workplace hazards and controls.
Isaac Ochulor
Isaac is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering with over 8 years experience in the Oil and gas exploration and Drilling. An approved IADC Instructor by International Association of Drilling Contractors and Course instructor Drilling Operations, Offshore Operations and Welcontrol correspondence courses for Petroleum Extension Services, University of Texas at Austin USA. He is a training consultant for Institute of Drilling and Petroleum (IDPE). Honorable Guest Speaker, International Oil & Gas Summit Dubai on Drilling and engineering Offshore Wells. Isaac is currently the Senior Drilling HSE Supervisor for Greatwall Drilling Company Abu Dhabi for Rigs GW164, GW 75, and GW65. He is a certified safety Manager. His passion borders on people development, life and business coaching, technology applications, motivational speaking and Petroleum business, policies, infrastructure and development - national & global. Marian is Graduate of Electrical Electronics Engineering and Masters in Petroleum Engineering and Project development.
