The British Council in Nigeria is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the below position:
Job Title: HR Officer
Start Date: Immediately
Location: Lagos
Job Purpose
To support the Assistant Director Nigeria in the delivery of BC Nigeria HR standards. The post holder will undertake specific work within HR and Diversity to support the effective management of the BC operation.
Context and Environment
The British Council in Nigeria works in three strategic business areas; Arts, English, Education and Society.
The post holders will work directly to Assistant Director Nigeria who is responsible for HR in our Nigeria operations.
Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Main Duties
1.) HR Delivery
To support the implementation of corporate standard BC policies on all apsects of HR policy in Nigeria as well as to maintain an appropriate working environment for staff in line with relevant policy.
To ensure compliance with Sub Saharan Africa HR Terms and Conditions of Service, Essential HR and other corporate HR standards
2.) HR Admin
To support the implementation of HR processes such as HR Enquiry Services, TACOS generated tasks and personnel record management
To provide support to all HR processes for example internal and external recruitment exercise including preparation of recruitment materials, sending out recruitment packs, preparing candidate records, inviting candidates to tests and interviews, booking interview rooms, meeting candidates on arrival for interview, ensuring medical referral, taking up references and preparing standard contracts etc
3.) Equal Opportunity and Diversity
To support the implementation of the Equal Opportunity and Diversity (EOD) strategy as designated by the HR Manager. The post holder will take part in the leadership and management of all Nigeria teams to ensure consistently high EOD standards
To lead on the Diversity Assessment Framework procedures as designated by HR Manager to ensure Diversity rating targets are consistently met and maintained.
4.) Key relationships
The post holder will work with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external. Internal: All British Council Nigeria teams, regional HR teams External: HR and Diversity contacts
Other important features or requirements of the job
Some weekend and evening work will be necessary.
Travel to other locations in Nigeria, within the region and to the UK may some times be required
Skills and Knowledge
Human Resource Management – Level 2
Marketing and Customer Service - Level 2
Qualification/ Experience
Degree level education.
2 years experience in working in Human Resources Management in a mid sized firm.
HRM in the INGO sector is desirable.
Remuneration
N 2,711,814 gross per annum. This includes allowances.

On the forms that i downloaded,there is a column space that required "JOB(s) REFERENCE NUMBER and APPLICATION REFERENCE NUMBER(for British Council use only) and i cant locate these numbers on the application or the web site. What do i do now?
