Job Title: Librarian

Location: Benin

Responsibility
The University Librarian is the Head and Officer in charge of the University Library who shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and co-ordinate all Library services in the University and its campuses, Colleges, Faculties, Department, Institutes and other teaching or research units.

Qualification and Experience

• Candidate for the Post of the University Librarian must possess a good honours Degree in Library Science from a recognized University and have membership of relevant professional bodies, A higher Degree will be an added advantage.
• Interested candidate should possess at least Fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience with adequate publications in reputable National and International journals.
• He/she must possess adequate leadership experience as well as high degree of competence, integrity and dependability.
• The person must be computer literate.
• Candidates below the rank of Deputy Librarian need not apply.
• The candidate should not exceed 55 years of age on appointment.

Tenure

• The successful candidate shall be appointed for a single term of five (5) years.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable for the post of a Librarian in Nigerian Universities and as may be determined by the University Governing Council from time to time.
