A leading Newspaper Publishing Company with its head office in the Ikeja area of Lagos has vacancies for the following positions

1.) Pre - Press Officers

Job Responsibilities

Outputting of films and plates for production
Scanning and editing of photograph
Advert design

Requirements

A corresponding degree or relevant experience in graphics and lithography
A working knowledge of the use of CTP machine will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 5 (five) years cognate experience in a newspaper publishing company.

2.) Webmasters

Job Responsibilities

Source for stories and pictures to be uploaded on the website in conjunction with the News Editors and On-Line Editor,
Website update and web housing management
Website design, redesign and development
Web site archive/data bank management and web survey application management
Web usage monthly statistics monitoring, reporting and interpretation
Liaise with our web host and external web administrators

Requirements

A good first degree in Computer Engineering / Inforrnation Technology and/or other relevant professional qualification.
A minimum of 5 (five) years cognate experience with a media house

3.) On-Line Editor

Job Responsibilities

Supervision of the On line team
Source for stories and pictures to be uploaded on the website in conjunction with News and Title Editors.
Website update and web housing management
Website design, redesign and development
Website archive/date bank management and web survey application management
Web usage monthly statistics monitoring, reporting and interpretation
Liaise with our web host and external web administrators

Requirements

A good first degree or its equivalent in any discipline
A Master’s degree and /or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 10 (ten) years cognate experience with a media house.

4.) Reporters / Correspondents

Job Responsibilities

Write incisive and quality news stories, articles and interviews for publication
Provide effective coverage of beat assigned
Sourcing for exclusive materials end ensuring relevant materials for a story are properly sourced and presented
Timely reporting of events and meeting production deadline

Requirements

A good first degree or its equivalent in any discipline
Bias or experience in reporting Energy, Aviation, Finance, Law, Info Tech, Property, Politics and Sports is an added advantage
A minimum of 5 (five) years cognate experience with a media house.

5.) Editors

Job Responsibilities

Managing and processing news reports for publication
Overall supervision and management of men and material on your desk.
Coordinating stories from Reporters/ Correspondents for publication
Generating news ideas for Reporters/Correspondents and ensuring meeting of targets and production deadline.

Requirements

A good first degree or its equivalent in any discipline
A relevant Master’s degree and/or experience in reporting Energy, Property, Aviation, Finance, Law, Info Tech, Politics and Sports will be an added advantage
A minimum of 10 (ten) years cognate experience with a media house

6.) Editorial Page Editor

Job Responsibilities

Write, edit and produce the Opinion and Editorial pages
Generate news features ideas for the general improvement and competitiveness of the newspaper’s editorial pages

Requirements

A good first degree in any discipline
A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage
A minimum of 10 (ten) years cognate experience with a media house.

7.) Legal Officer/ Senior Legal Officer

Job Responsibilities

Board Matters: Convening meetings, record minutes, distribution of correspondence sand keeping records of Board matters.
Recovery of debt owed the company and repossession of company’s properties.
Liaison with regulation authorities and state agencies
Litigation: Liaising with external solicitors Vetting controversial advert and editorial publications
Drafting and filing of legal processes

Requirements

A good first degree in Law (LLB)
A Master’s degree in law and! or
A Master’s degree in law and/or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage
A minimum of 5 (five) years post bar experience

8.) Library Officer

Job Responsibilities

Supervision of the Library.
Filling/Classification of photographs, journals, books and other library materials
Sourcing for materials from relevant bodies.

Requirements

A good first degree or its equivalent in Library Science
A working knowledge of Information Technology is an added advantage
A minimum of 5 (five) years cognate experience with a media house.

9.) Quality Control Officers (Aba and Abuja)

Job Responsibilities

Supervision of printing/production processes.
Ensuring print quality is in consonance with the company’s standard.

Requirements

A good first degree or its equivalent in Printing Technology
A minimum of 5 (five) years cognate experience with a media house.
