The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a sub-regional organization responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in the English-speaking West African countries, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions in its Nigeria National Office and the Lagos Department of its Headquarters Research Division. 1.)  Subject Officers
  • Music – B.A/B.A (Ed) Music, Knowledge in the use of Finale/Sibelius Software will be an added advantage
  • French – B.A (Hons) French, B.A (Ed) French
  • Clothing & Textiles – B.Sc Home Economics
  • Government - B.Sc/B.Sc (Ed) Political Science
  • Economics – B.Sc./B.Sc (Ed) Economics
Requirements

  • Possession of higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three years post qualification teaching experience is required for Subject Officers.

2.)  Research Officers

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Ed. (Hons) (at least Second Class Lower Division) in English Language and M. Ed. in Measurement and Evaluation from a recognised University.
  • A Ph.D will be an added advantage.

3.)  Aptitude Test Development Officers

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Ed. (Hons) (at least Second Class Lower Division) in either Chemistry, Physics or English and M.Ed. in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from a recognised University.
  • A minimum of three years post qualification teaching experience is required.

4.)  Accounting

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) from a recognised University and must be Associate Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with a

5.)  Internal Auditors

Requirements

6.)  Senior Purchasing / Procurement Officer and Purchasing / Procurement Officer

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) from a recognised University and must be Associate Members of the Institute Of Purchasing & Supply Management of Nigeria with a minimum of three years post professional qualification experience.
  • Applicants for the post of Senior Purchasing/ Procurement Officer must have a minimum of six years post professional qualification experience.

7.)  Senior Public Affairs Officer / Public Affairs Officer

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication (at least Second Class Lower Division), from a recognised University with at least three years experience in the Public Affairs Department of a reputable organisation or in the editorial or reportorial department of a reputable media outfit.
  • Possession of a higher degree and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants who have not majored in Mass Communication but who possess graduate diplomas in Mass Communication are also eligible.

8.)  Computer Programmers

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Sc (Hons) degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science, or equivalent from a recognised University with at least three years experience.
  • Applicants should have functional knowledge of at least three of the foHowing languages: Visual Basic (Visual Studio.Net) Visual Foxpro, COBOL, C++, JAVA.
  • Applicants should also be familiar with the following operating systems: MS-DOS, Windows 2008 Server (and beyond), OS/400, and Open VMS.
  • Knowledge of the following applications will be an added advantage:
  • (i)  Data Base Management - SQL Server 2005 (and beyond) and Oracle
  • (ii)  Network Management – Network and web design

Note: Applicants for all positions must (in addition to their degrees and professional qualifications), possess five credits including English Language and Mathematics at a sitting in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE "0" Level or six credits including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE "0" Level. Applicants should not be more than 35 years of age as at the close of applications except those for the positions of Senior Purchasing! Procurement Officer and Senior Public Affairs Officer who should not be more than 40 years.
