Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) is a Federal Government Licensed Private University situated at Ado-Ekiti.

Location:
The University which is built on a permanent site covers an area of 1,300 Acre of land on a high altitude of 17,500ft above sea level thereby providing cool and ideal climate for learning, sporting activities and commercial agriculture.

Structures on ground:
Imposing state-of-the-art and fully air-conditioned structures for Physical Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, Law, Engineering, Medical and Health Sciences, Sports, Hostels, Staff Quarters and modern cafeteria which provides Local, English and Continental dishes, ABUAD Bottle Water Plant, ABUAD Bakery, ABUAD Printing Press, Tuck Shops etc.

Teaching Facilities on ground:
Fully furnished laboratories; fully furnished modern virtual and physical libraries; ICT Laboratory, E-learning platform for all classrooms; V-sat with internet connectivity.

Recognition:
The University has been acknowledged by past and present Presidents of Nigeria, the National Universities Commission (NUC) and ICPC as a reference point, model and benchmark, the “fastest growing Private University in Africa”, “Europe in Africa” by All-African Students Union (AASU) and National Association of Law Students respectively. Founder:
Aare Afe Babalola, OFR, CON, SAN, LL.D a frontline legal practitioner in the country is a highly committed educationist and an astute administrator, a successful big time farmer, former Pro-Chancellor of the University of Lagos from 2000-2007 and the Chairman of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigeria. He was twice honoured by the NUC as the best Pro-Chancellor in the country. Winner of Queen Victoria Commemorative Award in Oxford and Vice President of Club of Rectors of Europe. His Council and the Vice Chancellor were also rated as the best in the country when he was the Pro-Chancellor of Lagos University. UNESCO in September, 2014 described him “as a Nigerian, African and global citizen who puts his wisdom, knowledge, connected and wealth to the benefit of mankind by building a world class university whose reputation has gone beyond Nigeria borders”.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the positions of Senior Lecturer in the following programmes in the College of Engineering:

  • Petroleum Engineering.
Academics Qualification
Candidate applying for the post of Senior Lecturer must possess a PhD with at least 6 years teaching and cognate experience supported with a suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.

Salary Package

Salary and allowances which are personal and negotiable are higher than Federal Government consolidated unitary salary structure. Salary increment is based on productivity and contribution to the development of the University.

Retirement, Pension and Other Welfare Schemes

The University operates a contributory Pension Fund as enacted by the Act of the National Assembly. It is mandatory for all staff to take part in the contributory pension scheme. The University shall pay 7½ percent of the staff monthly basic salary to the pension fund while the staff shall pay 7½ percent towards the fund. The University has also put in place insurance scheme for all staff. A staff shall not be hindered by the University from drawing from the pension and insurance schemes in respective of the service status in the University. In addition, the University offers highly subsidized accommodation facilities for staff on the campus with adequate water and electricity supply, sports and recreational facilities in a quiet and serene environment.
