Job Title: Executive Director Finance & Business Development (Investment/ Money Market)
Location: Lagos State
Reporting Relationships
Functionally reports to: GMD
Administratively reports to: MD
Job Objective
To drive growth in business, entrench profitable relationship based on agreed targets, lead the finance team and stay abreast of market and regulatory developments on the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
Seek and win new client companies and accounts that will impact the bottom-line of the organization
Conceptualize and implement strategies for business development of the company
Grow and expand market share of the company
Manage and control the company’s performance and finances in accordance with budgets approved by the Board
Identify and provide clients with innovative financial products and services that will meet their various financial needs and attract new clients
Ensure that products and services delivered to clients are of high quality in line with corporate policies and standards
Lead, develop and maintain strong working relationships with key market, economic and business decision makers, communicate value and inform them of the firm’s scope of services
Provide overall direction and leadership for Business Development, Finance & Investments, and Financial Control Divisions
Drive the implementation and achievement of the Divisions’ budget
Participate in and contribute to management meetings with a view to sharing experience for the benefit of robust decision making and knowledge impartation
Positively represent the company in the public by being a thought leader in the industry
Keep abreast and informed about the trends in the Registrars Market
Attend to the enquiries of clients’ secretaries
Ensure proper and accurate preparation, collation, documentation and execution of all Business Development and Investors Relations transactions as well as Finance & investments transactions
Position the Company to identify, attract and build a stable working relationship with clients by providing excellent customer service to all shareholders and Client companies
Ensure ongoing transaction excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of document needed to achieve the strategic goals
Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors and assist in developing strategic direction of the board
Render returns to Regulatory Authorities (i.e. SEC, NSE, etc.)
Officiate during General Meetings of client companies
Perform any other assignment delegated by the MD/CEO
Key Performance Indicators:
Establishment of the company’s new repository business
Income growth: number of new business opportunity (new clients or income lines) created - 30%
Income growth: increase in the income generated from core business (fees received from client companies), minimum of 10% annual growth – 20%
Efficiency: Timeliness in resolving requests from client companies, not exceeding 48 hours - 15%
Efficiency: Success in the management of events organised on behalf of client companies, including AGMs, seamless execution without complaints - 15%
Relationship Management: Timelines in collecting fees and ability to engage clients meaningfully in terms of unclaimed dividends, how long dividends stay beyond time prescribed - 20%
Work Experience & Education Requirements
A degree in Sciences, Social Sciences & Business and an advanced degree, ideally an MBA
Excellent working experience, gathered at a reputable financial institution in at least two of the following markets: Registrars, Fixed Income and Money Markets
Professional Certification in Information Technology
At least 10 years of Senior Management experience
