Purpose:

• This position will proactively manage, coordinate, supervise and direct engineering resources whilst ensuring engineering activities are executed in accordance with international standards and projects are delivered on plan and budget.
• The Candidate for this position is to team up with other Senior business leaders to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the strategic corporate vision of the organization with year on year delivery of business targets.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Manage and deliver engineering projects, monitor progress and take corrective actions wherever required to achieve set business targets.
• Provide technical leadership and decision-making for the work carried out by the engineering team while ensuring that all staff under his/her supervision are working to international specifications and standards and to any project-specific agenda.
• Lead provision of Engineering input to FDP and FR in addition to field Production facilities optimisation projects and well location preparation and construction
• Ensuring that all staff responsibilities and competencies are matched to job requirements and approve all temporary and permanent appointments for engineering personnel and also provide leadership in the drive for continuous improvement in engineering performance.
• Managing the day to day interfacing between the Projects, Project Managers and the disciplines of Piping, Civil/Structural, Architectural, Engineering &Installation, Mechanical and specialist disciplines together with the Project Construction Team.
• Managing the engineering and technical interface between the Organisation and client engineering, asset and operations teams to ensure consistent approach between EPC packages engineering designs and Company requirements and approaches.
• Participating in key stakeholders reviews and meetings, project reviews and Project Management Plan reviews.
• Developing a good team spirit within assigned personnel and encourage team working with the project team, contractor and client groups. Ensure that design, safety and technical audits are carried out in accordance with the approved procedures and guidelines.
• To establish capacity in conceptual engineering, infrastructure planning and project engineering & integration and ensure that engineering work is managed and executed in accordance with agreed budget and delivery plan.
• To lead improvement of the level of technical HSE in designs and operations, provide innovative thinking and timely deploy appropriate new technologies so as to achieve and/or exceed international minimum standards..

Competencies Required:

• Demonstrated ability to deliver large projects with expertise in design, specification, construction and general project engineering of oil and gas facilities and a sound knowledge of project cost control / planning of upstream / pipeline related Oil and Gas projects.
• Experienced in managing budgets, major engineering projects teams and proven success in previous projects is vital.
• Demonstrated capability with strong leadership and good inter-personal skills to work cross-functionally and contribute to development projects as a leader or major participant.
• Strong conceptual innovative thinking with technical, analytical and commercial business skills. Recognized in the organization and sought out for assistance.
• Demonstrated skill in contract management and commercial management.
• Registration with the national NSE or COREN or with similar international Professional bodies.

Education:    
B.Sc / B.Eng Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Chemical Engineering is required. A Post-Graduate degree would be an added advantage.    

Experience:    
15 Years and above. Most of this period must have been spent in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry
