Responsibilities
This experienced professional will coordinate and manage Pipeline Engineering Interface activities,and provide relevant expertise to the Pipeline Disciplines and Project Teams through all phases of the Project,including Concept Selection,design,procurement,construction,commissioning and start-up,to hand-over and initial operations.
He/She will also be supporting asset integrity and delivery projects from the front-end through execution and commissioning towards value maximisation,and will be looked up to as an important contributor to ongoing projects realization and strategic cost leadership practices within the Deep Water Projects organisation. Proactively comply with and excel in HSE goals and targets.
Provide HSSE leadership especially to direct reports and with 3rd Party contractors.
Proactively manage Deepwater Pipelines Interface,opportunity and risk.
Proactively support the multi-discipline Deepwater Project team on all project interface issues, both within the respective project groups and with external interface parties, including developing appropriate interface procedures and databases. Organise, lead and participate in interface workshops to identify and realise project technical assurance, project schedule and cost synergies (eg. common offshore surveys / services etc) across all project phases.
Interface with Project Leads of related disciplines,Technical Authorities (TA) and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure compliance with current legislation,industry standards and company procedures.
Identify and pursue cost-saving initiatives within the pipeline disciplines and other function.
Contributes to assurance reviews, detailed design, tendering and contracting, Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning of pipelines, including managing the pipelines tendering and contractor selection process as well as the execution work scopes.
Coach and develop younger staff on pipeline design,fabrication and installation issues.
Requirements
A Bachelors’ degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Construction Management, Offshore Engineering, or related disciplines, in addition to at least 8 years work experience post-NYSC
Working knowledge of a broad range of relevant engineering systems, tools and practices
Strong technical background with understanding of relevant Engineering processes and drawings, e.g. such as process, mechanical, safety, instrumentation, electrical and civil engineering
Strong conceptual innovative thinking with technical, analytical and commercial business skills.
A strong Commitment to HSSE.
Should have strong team-working skills.
Ability to deal with multiple, often conflicting, goals and priorities, including working under pressure.
Ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team comprising Shell, Co-venturer, government and contractor persons.
Good leadership qualities and excellent team-building/ playing capability, with high personal integrity and respect for people.
High degree of self motivation with a proven track record in achieving stretching personal and business goals.
Demonstrate ability to mentor and coach less experienced staff.
Very good communication skills
