Electrical Technician at Givanas Cosmetics Nigeria Limited

Givanas Cosmetics Nigeria Limited is a specialized Manufacturing company with wide range of products for the Nigerian markets like powder, petroleum jelly, perfumes.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
• Interpret electrical diagrams
• Install switches, sensors, circuit breakers, control panels
• Switching-on the machines at every start and switching-off at the end of operation;
• Carrying-out the routine and preventive maintenance schedule of electrical equipment and instrumentation of the plant;
• Undertaking tests to detect and repair any electrical faults on equipment and instrumentation;
• Monitoring the electrical performance of plant and equipment and recommending revision in maintenance schedule if necessary;
• Observing the company’s health and safety requirements
• Switching on the generator whenever government-supplied electricity goes out, switching off whenever the latter comes in;
• Controlling generator output to match the phase, frequency, and voltage of electricity supplied to panels;
• Adjusting or minor repairs, such as tightening of leaking glands and pipe joints, and reporting to superiors any need for major repairs;
• Undertaking tests to detect and repair any electrical faults on equipment and instrumentation;
• Monitoring the performance of the equipment and recommending revision in maintenance schedule if necessary.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an electrician
• Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems (particularly in manufacturing)
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.)
• Demonstrable ability to interpret electrical drawings and blueprints
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts
• Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician
• Ability to work with little or no supervision

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum of SSCE or Technical course in the field of Engineering.
• Applicable experience or successful track record with 2 to 5 years’ experience.
• Experience in electrical maintenance production.
• Knowledge of the plant, equipment and processes.
• Basic knowledge of all aspects of production process.
• Ability of express ideas clearly both in oral and written communication.

Skills and Attitudinal Applicable:

• Good communication skills
• Proven experience as an electrician
• Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
