An Engineering Construction company located in Port-Harcourt requires for immediate employment technically sound and result oriented individuals to fill the vacant position below:

Job Description

The candidate would be responsible for realizing enterprise-level system designs and working with other architects and development teams to retain architectural and implementation consistency.
The candidate will also assist with the selection of contractors, coordinate work on site throughout the project and provide technical and design support.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for architectural designs for major projects and work with the Principal Architect, clients, and engineers (civil, electrical, structural, mechanical) to create construction bidding documents for projects involving new construction as well as renovation of existing buildings.
Develop concept design on very diverse, high profile projects and establish program requirements.
Preparation of written reports and specifications as well as verbal presentations to clients and potential clients.
Preparation of detailed construction drawings while coordination with other disciplines
Interpretation and application of relevant building codes
Preparation of specifications and cost estimates.
Design and oversee solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements.
Understand the broader business context and develop architecture and influence implementation to support it.

Qualification and Requirements

Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Architecture with Microsoft Office suite, Project Management, Scheduling and Architectural software.
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience as an architect in construction-related work including high rise buildings.
A strong knowledge of materials and methods of construction, including proper detailing of architectural building systems is required.
Knowledge of CAD, spreadsheets, word processing, and similar computing systems is required.
Must be able to lead a team on projects.
Strong written and communication skills; decision-making, and interpersonal skills are required.
Good analytical and planning skills.
Experience in all aspects of the architectural profession is preferred including programming ability, conceptualization of projects, visual presentation of these projects in various media, and actual preparation of construction documents.
Strong knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and contract language applicable to the construction industry is required.
The ability to prepare sketches and renderings in various forms of media to adequately convey the concepts of projects or prepare representations of expected final constructed results is required.
The ability to prepare contract documents, including reviewing plans and specifications, and the ability to read and interpret contract documents and coordinate between responsible parties, are required.
Ability to comprehend drawings & to organize sub-contractor works.
Applicants MUST be resident in Port Harcourt or its environs.
