Job Title: Head, Commercial - Oil and Gas

Job Summary
The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Leadership and People Management:
Provide strong leadership and ensure clear strategic objectives are in place for the department
Support the implementation and facilitation of relevant workshops and training courses
Promote the organization’s core values and a strong team culture
Manage the day to day performance, learning and development of the team, including one on one feedback sessions and conduct performance appraisals
Other Responsibilities:
Conducting market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, sales etc.)
Undertake market expansion actions that will satisfy customer’s needs and ultimately maximize the company turnover
Development of commercial relationship with buyers and suppliers of petroleum products and crude oil inNigeria and beyond
Identification ofnewbusiness opportunities in line with thecompany’sstrategy.
Actively identify and initiate new/ additional products development initiatives for various target consumer market
Monitor market trends, competitor activities and consumer preferences to position company’s marketing drive accordingly.
Understanding the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met.
Constantly drive plans, strategies, and implementation of feedstock sourcing management for the company’s refinery operation from private E&P companies and government owned NNPC, negotiate contract agreement on pricing, quantity, delivery, including specifications and payment terms.
Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams of workers in marketing, sales, customer service etc.
Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring.
Manage loading and discharge operation for various product traded.
Leading, guiding innovation and business development
Review of business proposals or dealings and ensure profitability.
Deploy customer retention strategies and develop strategies to acquire new customers.
Identify all tenders that are on offer in theindustryand assist in preparation, negotiation, and presentation of major tenders where necessary.
Preparations and representations at calls for meetings, tenders, and conferences.
Lead on all regulatory and statutory compliance.
Annual business planning (strategy and financial)
Handling the complete supply chain process.
Liaise with shipping companies where necessary to arrange vessel/Road tankers to ensure all import/export documentation is in order and the operation is running effective and efficiently according to plan.
Coordinate with nominated inspection team to inspect and take a sample of the product and conduct specification analysis report.
Requirements
BSc / HND from a reputable university or polytechnic
An MBA will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduation relevant experience, five (5) of which must be in management capacity in the oil & Gas trading sector
Knowledge of strategic management and marketing/ business development
Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry dynamics.
Excellent Analytical and Entrepreneurial skills
Proficient in the use of MS office applications.
