H&W Rice Company Limited is a leading company with the drive to create quality local substitutes to imported rice products in Nigeria. Established as a vertically integrated producer of high-quality whole grain parboiled rice, strives to ensure the finest, export-quality products for our local and international customers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: Adamawa
Reports to: GMD & Board of Directors

Job Objectives

• Provide strategic business leadership and direction for the operations of H & W Rice Company Limited while expanding businesses across profitable and viable agricultural value chains.
• The CEO is responsible for leading the development and execution of long-term strategies, corporate strategy with focus on managing resources, risk and return across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a strong vision for H&W Rice Company Limited in alignment with the priorities established by the board and drive a sustainable plan to achieve the short-term, medium-term, and long-term objectives of the business.
• Expand and diversify the scope of H&W's deliverables across the agricultural value chain leveraging on advanced technology and knowledge of the business landscape.
• Lead the team through cost effective production with low wastage and high-quality standards while ensuring alignment with the company's financial objectives, growth, and profitability goals.
• Collaborate with businesses, government (state and local), educational institutions, host community and other economic development organizations to drive sustainable community engagement initiatives and projects with the potential to improve the quality of lives of community members.
• Drive effective execution and operation of the Company's operated assets (on time and on budget) and effectively influence the development of the non operated assets.
• Drive the revenue and profitability growth, improve market share & deliver superior return on investment.
• Closely monitor the organization’s operating and financial results against plans and budgets.
• Advice the Board of Directors on business requirements; identity present and future requirements in line with operational and business aspirations.
• Create a culture within the organization to achieve and sustain the vision and mission statement.
• Develop and execute strategies to address energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction and waste elimination.
• Communicate with all key stakeholders to address sustainability issues and also assess the viability of sustainability.
• Initiatives.
• Champion the development and implementation of organizational/divisional processes and procedures.
• Ensure that client requirement and the needs of multiple stakeholders are being identified and managed effectively.
• Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the management and other employees.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Business-related discipline.
• A Master's Degree or MBA is required.
• Minimum of 10 years senior management experience In Agribusiness or Manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in strategic business management, formulating and executing strategic plans, strategic analysis and review & strategic market development.

Skills and Capabilities:

• A strong, dynamic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset with sound knowledge of food production operations.
• Knowledge of quality and food safety management.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Quality assurance process design for startup operations.
• Ability to execute and plan quality projects.
• Ability to drive value chain initiatives.
