Fleet Service Manager at a Bus Operating Company - Abia and Lagos

We are a Bus Operating Company (BOC) that operates a modern and efficient bus service system with a high premium on commuter’s comfort, accessibility, affordability and reliability.

Our bus service model addresses the high number of single-occupancy vehicles that have become a major cause of traffic congestion in major cities within West Africa, as well as providing efficient Intercity & Regional transportation. We offer an attractive alternative to the private car whether travelling to work or schools, accessing leisure activities, visiting friends or going shopping.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fleet Service Manager

Locations: Abia and Lagos

Job Description

• Manage the process of driver hours, accident reporting, vehicle maintenance and servicing.
• Ensure all vehicle accidents are accurately recorded and investigated with claim forms submitted to the company's Legal Team. Act as primary contact with buses insurers.
• Manage the processes for obtaining damage estimates, carrying out repairs and ensuring maximum availability of buses for operational teams.
• Act as a fleet adviser for Operations Managers.
• Procure a new fleet and arrange disposal of redundant vehicles.
• Responsible for maintenance of the buses database and ensuring its accuracy.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventive adherence program for the company’s fleet.
• Recommend and Implement policies that will effectively address the systemic gaps, leakages identified during the repairs and maintenance period.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and security regulations and policies.
• Ensure that adequate and effective risk assessments are undertaken and regularly reviewed in conjunction with HSE.
• Overall management of the buses.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications
• Minimum of Eight (8+) years’ experience with the last three years in a management role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Knowledge of vehicle compliance regulations.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Membership of recognized professional body.
• Experience in a bus transport company is an added advantage.
