Job Title: Home Tutor

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time

Description

• We are in need of excellent home tutor to provide non-classroom, academic instruction to students to help them comprehend and assimilate the concepts and details of any given subject.

Job Responsibilities

• Review classroom or curricula topics and assignments
• Assist student with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks
• Work with student to help him/her understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
• Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategiesand approaches to answering test questions
• Demonstrate academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments,and writing tactics
• Conduct practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation
• Provide student positive and constructive feedback
• Offer feedback on progress to students' parents and teachers where appropriate

Requirements

• Minimum of BA / B.Ed in English Language or Linguistics with 5 years experience.
• Candidate must be a certified teacher
• Candidate must have a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a school
• Candidate must have expertise in teaching mathematics and English language to age group between 2-5 Years
• Ability to relate well with children of age group between 2-5 Years.
• Candidate must have good diction.
• A respect and fondness for children is a must.
• Highly conscientious and committed to the highest standards of professional service.
• Candidate must have the ability to inspire and enthuse young children.
• Hard work, dedication to duty, use of initiative and ability to go the extra mile is generally required.
• Candidate must be confident with IT and computer packages.
• Candidate must be resourceful, responsible, patient and caring.
• Candidate must have a history of personal achievement.
• Candidate must be creative in designing learning activities.
• Excellent listening, communication, writing, organizational, research and IT skills.
• Candidate must have the proven ability to shape student learning and behaviour and engage, guide and motivate students.
• Applicant must reside at Lekki, Ajah and its environs.
