Head of Procurement - Retail at QMB Hypermart

QMB Hypermart, a leading Retail and Lifestyle company in the FMCG Industry, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Procurement - Retail

Location: Lagos

What You Will Do

• To liaise with potential suppliers to negotiate contracts, including the management of tender processes for the awarding of new contracts directly or supporting internal customers.
• Conduct supplier and product/service market research according to business needs and standards to ensure value-add for the company.
• Evaluate supplier to see if it is worth collaborating with it in relation to the price and quality of the provided items, and how fast delivery can be completed
• Collaborate with vendors, to learn more about their products and services, and ensure that your evaluation is correct and comprehensive.
• Ensure that Supplier Relationship Management is in place following the sourcing process
• Visit supplier’s plant and distribution center to know more about supplier standards to meet the company’s demand and ensure manufacturing, storing, and transport conditions are appropriate.
• Ensure the company is up to date with the latest products and suppliers, conducts suppliers the market, and emerging trends.
• Oversee and manage the bid evaluation, analysis, recommendations, and award of contracts.
• Administer contracts, required addendums, and amendments for contractual agreements according to organizational needs, changing markets, and legislative codes and standards.

What You Will Bring

• A Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• M.Sc or MBA an added advantage
• Experience in Retail large stores
• 5 - 10 years relevant experience
• Must have a large network in the supplier market.
• Must have a large network in Blue chip companies.
• Must be up to date with details of changes in the economy that may affect business.
• Understanding of Supply Chain Management Procedures.
• Knowledge of Supply Management Software.
