Job Title: Facilities Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers (On-site)
Job type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Designs and modifies straight forward equipment and facilities such as: separators and treaters; transfer pumps; vapor recovery units; simple pipelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of production engineering processes / terminology.
• Performs heat and material balances for units such as glycol units, amine plants, cooling tower, oil and gas separators, etc.
• Utilizes basic tools and procedures for design safety (such as API 14C, flare and relief systems, process safety management, etc.).
• Maintains basic data sheets, supplier drawings, P&IDs
• Assigned to the business unit for planning, scoping, estimating and executing various projects
• Provide engineering services to the business units, overseeing design and installation during the construction phase
• Manage capital project spend and budget as it relates to surface facility work
• Performing "Lookbacks" on the execution of facility activities and identifying lessons learned
• Working directly with Operations Manager to manage all project activities within the project timeline with approved budget to save cost for each project.
• Optimize the surface oil, gas and water production facility performance including developing/implementing engineered solutions for issues that may be limiting production, productivity, efficiency, and general operability of the asset
• Troubleshooting oil field production systems and equipment while monitoring pressures, temperatures, and rates throughout the system
• Act as point of contact for Maintenance and Construction Staff in managing the day-to-day operations
• Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
• Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls.
• Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
• Developing processing plans and optimizing resource allocation.
• Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
• Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
• Preparing reports and compliance documentation.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Process or Petroleum Engineering.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience as a facilities engineer or in a similar role.

Skills:

• Moderate HYSYS and /or PIPEPHASE simulation skills.
• Ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID), Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Safety Analysis Function Evaluation (SAFE) charts.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Project management skills.
