We seek a Technology Lead to support and lead the growth of our remote team in Latin America.
This individual will be responsible for building the local team while synchronizing to and working in conjunction with our global software teams.
The Technology Lead will be instrumental in building the LQ team in Latin America and as such must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
The ideal candidate will be very hands on in the talent acquisition, client delivery, training and development and other key startup activities.
Key Responsibilities
Hiring and training technical personnel within your team through coaching and mentorship
Delegating work and assignments to team members
Guiding team development efforts towards successful project delivery
Maintaining high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits with a structured approach
Identifying and encouraging areas for growth and improvement within the team
Assisting in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans
Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software
Designing, developing, and unit testing applications in accordance with established standards
Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
Packaging and supporting deployment of releases
Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems
Assessing opportunities for application and process improvements and preparing documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties
Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
Requirements
Education Requirements:
College or University Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Minimum Requirements:
7 years experience including:
5+ years experience in modern programming languages including proficiency with PHP or NodeJS
5+ years experience with Git
3+ years experience with the ability to demonstrate proficiency with JavaScript, ReactJS (or other SPA frameworks), and CSS
Proficiency with database technologies such as MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server
Experience providing technical oversight for a development team with 2 to 6 members
Designed technical solutions based on the business requirements and the existing architecture of a large and complex system
Worked with the project manager in the estimation effort for projects and work to identify and manage risk
Conducted hands on development activities using Agile methodology
Experience in developing conceptual and technical design including use of Microservices Architecture
Documented technical design as well as other technical documents based on project’s compliance requirements
Participated in and encouraged interactive discussion during technical design and code reviews
3+ years experience as Technical Team Lead or other people management role
Prior experience in a technical leadership position.
