Job Title: Head, Child Development (Primary)

Job Summary
The Head, of Child Development (Primary) in Pershing Hills Elementary school works with the Head of School in managing the children’s educational and other development activities for the primary segment.
This will include registration of students, recruitment of educators, and other educational activities.
Duties
Strategy and Planning:
The Head Child Development (Primary) follows through with the strategic plan devised by the Head of School for the primary school.
Assist the Head of School with the recruitment, induction, and management of educators, careers, and administrative staff of the Primary school.
Ensure that the organizational systems throughout the Primary School are effective and appropriate.
Work with Head of School to plan activities for children in the primary segment.
Educational and Research:
Define assessment criteria for new children seeking admission
Manage admission process for nursery section. This includes setting dates, defining assessment criteria, marking the scheme, and making a selection of the best candidate.
Work with educators to identify learning tools and equipment for creativity classes.
Research the textbooks and workbooks that best pass learning across to the children for each class.
Conduct an occasional and daily assessment of the classrooms to review primary educators teaching methods and make observations on key improvement areas.
Review educators’ lesson notes, defining ideal methods that pass learnings across to the children
Administration:
Monitor educators, ensuring teaching standards can be understood by primary children as well as standards are met.
Allocate duties to staff within the school and the management of staff by the School’s policies and procedures.
Work with the admissions office to ensure that children to be admitted to the nursery School are tested before admission and appropriately placed.
Organise the special pre-school activities within the term supervising that educators send these reminders at the appropriate time.
Design school termly fun and learning activities for the primary segment.
Timely preparation of primary school teaching schedules and duty rosters.
Arrange appropriate relief for absent educators when necessary.
Prepare primary graduating exercises for children in primary five and six
Key Performance Indicators
Work on increasing children’s attendance in school by 20 – 30% every session
Attain 80% retention of children in the school
Maintain close contact and relationship with parents and educators
Achieve a Net Promoter Score of 8
Achieve a customer satisfaction rate of 80% termly.
Requirements / Qualifications
B.Sc. / HND or NCE
M.Sc. is an advantage
13 and over years of experience as an educator
Must possess early childhood training certification
Certification in Montessori Education
Great relationship management skills
Great business planning and managerial skills
Great leadership skills
Great negation skills
Great team-building skills.
