Position Summary
The Head of School of Pershing Hills Elementary school has the overall responsibility for the effective management of the School’s programme (pre-school and primary school).
The Head of School will ensure the quality of children’s experience in the school.
Duties
Strategy and Planning:
Review the recruitment, induction, and management of educators, carers and administrative staff
Ensuring that the organisational systems throughout the Primary School are effective and appropriate.
Conduct interviews of educators.
Design marketing and promotional activities for the school to achieve termly increase in the number of children at Pershing Hills.
Review the Transparent app for communication lines between parents and educators.
Oversee parents’ review and comments on Transparent app
Maintain lines of communication between parents and educators.
Oversee parents’ forum with educators and follow-through deliberations to ensure proper implementation.
Administration:
Define educator requirement in line with Lagos state education standards and constantly review educators’ and assistant educators’ qualification.
Create a supportive working environment for all educators in the School, fostering their career development.
Manage relevant disciplinary procedures for both educators and children.
Education and Research:
Ensure the effective delivery of high-quality teaching and the maintenance of learning standards.
Promote a culture of learning that is directed to children’s needs, and of teaching that is informed by the development interests and abilities of the children.
Fostering the development of academic policy and initiatives within the context of the long-term strategies.
Promote excellence and improvement in all matters of teaching, learning, and administration.
Ensure the regular review, evaluation and development of programmes offered by the School.
Examination:
Define performance benchmarks for educators and children based on defined indices
Review children performances and discuss teaching methods for the children based on their peculiarities.
Technology:
Advise on the appropriate technology to pass knowledge to the children.
Key Performance Indicators:
Work on increasing children attendance in school by 20 - 30% every session
Attain 80% retention of children in the school
Maintain close contact and relationship with parents and educators
Achieve a Net Promoter Score of 8
Achieve a customer satisfaction rate of 80% termly.
Requirements / Qualifications
B.Sc./ HND or NCE
15 and over years of experience as an educator
Over 10 years post-work experience post obtaining early childhood raining certification
M.Sc. is an advantage
Effective relationship management skills
Effective business planning and managerial skills
Effective leadership skills
Effective negation skills
Effective team-building skills.
