We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head - Financial Reporting, Tax and Business Performance

Location: Lagos

Functions & Responsibilities

• Provide strategic support to the CFO in the achievement of the Corporation’s objectives
• Ownership of the preparation of the consolidated monthly management accounts
• Directs & oversees the preparation & distribution of all periodic statutory financial statements for external use
• Manages Access Corporation’s external auditors in carrying out the statutory audits of the Group. Responding to Auditor’s queries promptly and accurately to ensure successful completion of audit within the agreed timelines
• Prepare quarterly GMD Board report.
• Analyze and deliver quarterly Finance board update reports/papers
• Ensure prompt rendition of financial performance returns to Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), ensuring documentation complies with regulations, professional standards
• Analyze, research, and conclude on new & proposed accounting standards, reporting & disclosure standards, prepare memorandum regarding Access Corporation Plc’s position and impact on the Company
• Plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of various financial information systems
• Reviews & Manages SLAs
• Responsible for strategic focus on Group tax governance, oversight, compliance monitoring, tax planning & reporting
• Responsible for designing the Group Tax Operating Model which should effectively result in cost savings for the Group in the short, medium, and long-term
• Simplified and efficient compliance monitoring, reporting, and transparency across the Group.
• Develop a standardized tax policy and risk management strategy across the Corporation. Process standardization and technology-backed processes to drive efficiency and data quality
• Build a tax function that supports the business by focusing more on advisory-related tasks and less on compliance tasks
• Ensuring reporting by the local tax teams on all tax matters is done monthly. The format of the report would be designed by the Group Head of Tax.
• The Head of Tax would be responsible for the procurement of tax advice on matters affecting the Group’s operations in each jurisdiction

Professional Requirements

• A good First Degree in any discipline plus Professional Accounting, Certification; ICAN, ACCA, or CITN. A relevant master’s degree will be an advantage
• 10-15 years in Financial Reporting, Tax & Performance
• Ability to combine strategic and analytical perspectives with a pragmatic approach. Able to focus on day-to-day performance whilst simultaneously working towards longer-term goals
• Deep knowledge and understanding of the key metrics for companies across the various verticals we operate, Strong commercial acumen, willingness and ability to challenge accepted practices and processes
• Strong interpersonal & influencing skills for managing senior-level relationships and difficult performance management conversations
• Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, and be able to meet tight deadlines
• Has superb written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to draft engaging and impactful messages for internal and external audiences.
