Job Summary

• The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for electrical maintenance, repair, and servicing of all existing equipment on the rice processing and milling plant.

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble, evaluate, test and maintain all electrical wiring, equipment and appliances utilized in the rice mill.
• Review maintenance work orders and ensure that maintenance does not affect production/operational activities.
• Participate in diagnosis and repair of major equipment/machinery breakdown.
• Communicate estimated time of repair and ensure timely return of repaired equipment.
• Carryout planned preventive measures within scheduled time to ensure equipment availability.
• Regularly check equipment on site and troubleshoot/repair any malfunctioning equipment or appliance.
• Ensure proper understanding and interpretation of all electrical and electronic circuit manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Create a log of unsuitable equipment and appliances and advice the utility manager on observed conditions.
• Perform periodic electrical testing and recommend or initiate modification or replacements of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
• Supervise electricians and ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
• Liaise with the procurement team in outlining required specifications for purchase of electrical supplies and equipment.
• Diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Install or maintain electrical control systems to prevent casualties.
• Develop electrical works criteria and make amendments to any outdated criteria.
• Support in the drafting of shifts and schedules for electricians and other support personnel.
• Maintain all electrical equipment.
• Liaise with the HSE team to draft safety guidelines and procedures.
• Discuss the repair and replace defective components in motors, generators, controllers, storage batteries, switchboards, conductors, switches and varied electrical fixtures.
• Install, wire and connect electrical equipment and control system.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical, electromechanical, and electronic parts of machinery and equipment.
• Supervise the necessary preventive and corrective actions plans to ensure the safety of personnel, the environment protection, and the integrity of equipment in his domain of activities
• Provide work orders of electrical equipment with routine maintenance tasks and shutdown schedule, i.e. Frequency, duration, work to be performed, resources allocation, etc. And submit to planning department for scheduling.
• Validate short term predictive/preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure that adequate provision is made for the availability of spare parts and materials for all electrical maintenance works. This includes the periodic review of store stock holding, the identification and ordering of direct materials and the preparation of financial justification.
• Participate with the contractors and vendors for the provision of specialist electrical services and the workshop activities. This includes participating in the development of technical work scope of contracts, reviews documents, and gives recommendations for contractor’s prequalification.
• Provide plant electrical technicians with advice and guidance in solving technical problems with electrical preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure failure root cause analyses are done when necessary.
• Prepare monthly reports (specifications, performances, costs, budget follow up) for the section to be submitted to management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in any Electrical Engineering, Technical, or related degree from an accredited University or Polytechnic.
• At least 8 years’ experience with at least 5 years in an electrical maintenance supervisory role.
• Experience in operating of Generators Autocorrect (DG) machines.
• Experience managing electrical activities for plants, yards or production companies.
• Familiar with testing and inspecting of electrical equipment, control systems and installations.
• Knowledge of planned, preventive maintenance processes.
• Familiarity with various electrical tools for operations within a rice mill.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong supervisory skills.
