International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) - Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is a British charity that supports the safety of aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training.

Job Title:Finance Assistant (Temporary)

Job Summary
This is a three-month position.
The responsibilities of this position will be to support the Finance Manager in carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities including payment expenses, asset reconciliation, tax and payroll as well as maintaining the bookkeeping entries and filing accounting documents.
The Finance Assistant works under the supervision of the Finance Manager in collaboration with the Finance Team.
Major Responsibilities
Records expense incurred in Bank and Cash Book extract daily; sends to Finance officer for review.
Ensures valid supporting document are attached before cash and bank payment are done.
Prepares payment transfer instruction for Bank payment.
Reconciles advance when necessary with support from Finance officer.
Ensures proper filing of accounting document for Abuja.
Ensures vouchers are scanned monthly for Nigeria, Niger & Cameroun and drop in the share point.
Extracts staff National Housing Fund, Pension, WHT & PAYE Schedule and remits monthly; sends to Finance officer for review.
Fills in individual National Housing Fund Passbook monthly.
Scans Maiduguri related PAYE and WHT for documentation.
Reviews staff travel claim and make reimbursement when necessary.
Prints monthly intercompany vouchers and file.
Stamps monthly accountancy reviewed document in the box file.
Stamps the Monthly Accountancy and records amount for different donors
Mandatory Qualifications
A University Degree or advanced certificate or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is required
Advance M/S Excel experience- SUM IFs, Pivot Tables, LOOK UP functions etc.
NGO experience is preferred.
Accounting skills and experience in general ledger, journal entries, cash/bank management
Excellent oral and written English Language
