Police Recruitment is Full of Corruption - AIG

Posted on Tue 19th Jun, 2012 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (17 comments)

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 1, Mr. Philimon Ibrahim Leha has expressed disappointment over the recruitment process of the Nigeria police stating that it is full of corruption.

He said: "Even the most recent recruitment were cadet officers are undergoing various trainings would further be scrutinized such that many of them may not eventually scale through."

Leha, who said this in Dutse, Jigawa State during a courtesy visit to Governor Sule Lamido at Government House, stated that the new management of the Nigeria Police will be all out to bring sanity into the policing profession with a view to restoring public confidence in the force.

"It is disheartening with the way and manner new officers are being recruited into the force," he said, noting: "If we really have to transform the police force we must also change our approach to the process of recruiting officers which is full of corruption and sentiment," he said.

Speaking further on recruitment, he said hence forth the exercise would only be based on merit. He informed the governor about the new strategy to be introduced by the police which include among others creating a Human Rights Unit and Community Policing for effective service delivery.

"We cannot do it alone we need the support of all and sundry to get to the promise land we need all these for us to operate within the confines of the law and for the success of our democratization process and for peace and tranquillity to reign in the land.’’

Responding Governor Lamido, who expressed happiness for the familiarization tour embarked upon by the AIG, thanked him for the new initiative to be introduced by Nigeria Police Force.

Lamido said Nigeria is passing through one of its most trying moments in its chequered history and must strive to surmount the security challenges that have so far defied solution.

Because of the high level of insecurity in the country, now they are admiting that the process is full of corruption,we are watching them with keen interest on how they will free the country from the new trend of crimes and terrorism with their man know man recruitment process.

The execution is 100% sure, implimentation is also 100% sure ,if is to be carried out by the IG.recruitment is not going to be by merit unless tests are to be carried out from square one there at ojie river.it will take nigerians many yrs to get he/she that will be compare with DORAH.

This is errant nonsense. if not for something, i would have said something here but let me reserve my comment. the NP are the problem we Nigerians are having and they know it themselves. everyday, they come out to give bullshit in the name of sanity and security. Ekwensu tukwa unu mbo ni ike, ndi aruru-ani.
