Job Title: Senior Writer

About Role

• We are looking for a journalist with a flair for creative writing and an interest in the tech industry. As senior writer, you will work with a team of writers in a dynamic, news-driven environment.
• You will write daily and must be comfortable with the demands of a fast-paced newsroom. This includes writing to tight deadlines, and some weekend and morning/evening hours as needed.
• You must have strong news judgment and clear convictions about which stories to cover each day – and how to approach them with our unique perspective and voice.

Responsibilities

• Create well-researched content in line with the Company’s style guide.
• Follow strictly the editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the Editorial team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Cover events based on request as determined by the Editor.
• Interview players in the tech ecosystem;
• Utilize industry best practices in line with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content.
• Provide timely CARE feedback and cooperate with the Editorial team.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly set targets as communicated by the Editor.
• Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines.
• Communicate and cooperate with the editorial and other team members to achieve set goals.
• Develop relatable content for diverse platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, and blogs.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement.
• Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English or a related discipline.
• At least two years of journalism experience with a professional editorial organization.
• At least one year digital media experience (comfortable with newsletters)
• Ability to perform creative writing and related activities such as conducting interviews and research, and copy editing.
• Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and can articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality.
• Can work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Salary
N200,000 / Month.
