A. Academic Positions

1. Faculty of Agriculture
Department of Animal Science

Position: Lecturer ll/l CONUASS 03/04


Areas of Specialization:

Animal Biotechnology, Animal Reproductive Physiology (specializing in male reproduction), Ruminant Nutrition, Non-Ruminant Nutrition, Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Reqirements:
  • Candidates applying for the position of Lecturer II should possess B.Sc./B.Agric. (in animal Sciences or B,Sc. in Fisheries and Aquaculture)

Reqirements:
  • Candidate applying for the position of an Assistant Lecturer must have MA., M,Sc. Or M.Phil in Religious Studies or cognate relevant disciplines such as Anthropology, Sociology, History of Religions, etc.

Positions
Lecturer II/I - CONUASS 03/04

Reqirements:
  • Candidate applying for these positions must have a Ph.D. degree in History from a recognized institution, have cognate teaching experience at the tertiary level and must show evidence of academic productivity through publications in reputable peer reviewed journals in the discipline.

3. Faculty of Social Sciences
Department of Political Science

Positions:
Graduate Assistant - CONUASS 01
Assistant Lecturer - CONUASS 02
Lecturer II/I - CONUASS 03/04

Reqirements:
  • Candidates applying for the position of a Graduate Assistant should possess B.Sc. degree in Political Science from a reputable university.
  • Candidates must be qualified, willing and capable of pursuing higher degrees. Candidates with a CGPA of less than 3.0 on the scale of 5.0 (or its equivalent) need not apply.
  • Candidates applying for the position of an Assistant Lecturer should posses B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Political Science from a reputable university or universities. Such candidates must have obtained a CGPAof at least 3.0 on the scale of 5.0 (or its equivalent) at the B.Sc level, and a B+ average at the M.Sc level.
  • Candidates applying for the position of a Lecturer II should possess B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD degrees in Political Science from a reputable university or universities.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates with B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Political Science and a reasonable number of publications in reputable scholarly journals provided such candidates have spent three years as an Assistant Lecturer and must have reached an advanced stage on the Ph.D programme.
  • Candidates applying for the position of a Lecturer I should possess B.Sc., M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Political Science from a reputable university or universities and a reasonable number of publications in reputable scholarly journals.
  • In addition, candidates should have at least three years experience in the university system. Candidates are to indicate their area of specialization.

4. Faculty of Pharmacy
Department of Pharmaceuticals

Positions:
Junior Trainee Fellow - CONUASS 01
Lecturer II/I - CONUASS 03/04

Reqirements:
  • Candidate applying for the position of a Junior Trainee Fellows must be a Pharmacy graduates with excellent qualifications and desire for postgraduate training in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
  • Candidate applying for the position of a Lecturer II must be a registered pharmacists with Ph.D or M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University or any other recognized University.
  • For candidates who possess only M.Sc. degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, ability to proceed straight to Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Chemistry will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate applying for the position of a Lecturer I must in addition to the above have some years of teaching experience and evidence of publications in reputable journals.

Department of Pharmacognosy

Positions:
Junior Trainee Fellow - CONUASS 01
Lecturer II - CONUASS 03

Reqirements:
  • Candidate for the position of a Junior Trainee Fellow must have B.Pharm, Degree (a GPA of not less than Second Class Lower Grade).
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate, and a Registered Pharmacist.

Reqirements:
  • Candidate for the position of Junior Research Fellow should possess B.Sc. In Engineering, Sciences and M.Sc. in Technology Management or allied disciplines such as Industry Engineering and Engineering management.
  • Candidates for the position of Research Fellow II should possess B.Sc. in Engineering, Sciences or Social Sciences and M.Sc. and Ph.D in Technology Management or allied disciplines such as Industry Engineering and Engineering management. Candidates without Ph.D are expected to have years of cognate experience. Evidence of Publications is very important.
  • Candidates for the position of Senior Research Fellow should possess B.Sc. in Engineering, Sciences or Social Sciences and M.Sc. and Ph.D in Technology Management or allied disciplines such as Industry Engineering and Engineering management plus five years of cognate experience.

Reqirements:

Reqirements:
  • Candidates for the position of Principal Technologist must have HND/A.I.S.T./N.I.S.T. and minimum of ten years post qualification experience, preferably in an Academic Institution.

Department of Agricultural and Environmental

Reqirements:
  • Candidate for the position of Senior Technologist should possess Full Technologist Certificate of the City and Guild AIST/NIST or HND in relevant field with specialization in Farm Power/Machinery, food processing and Post Harvest Technology plus at least 7 years post qualification experience.
  • Candidate for the position of Senior Technical Officer should possess HND or equivalent plus 3 years post qualification experience with specialization in Farm Structure and Environment, Civil or Building Technology.

Reqirements:
  • Candidate for the position of an Assistant Registrar should possess a good University honours degree from a well-recognized institution with a minimum of second class (Lower Division) plus at least five years relevant administrative experience in the public or private sector but preferably in a Higher Educational Institution.
  • Possession of a postgraduate diploma/degree in a relevant field of administration/management will be an advantage.
  • Candidate must be computer literate.
  • Candidate for the position of a Senior Assistant Registrar should possess qualifications as specified for Assistant Registrar but with eight years relevant administrative experience in the public or private sector but preferably in a Higher Educational Institution.
  • Possession of a postgraduate diploma/degree in a relevant field of administration/management will be an advantage. He/She must be computer literate.
