Petrocarbon Engineering Limited, a UK based  company with branch office in Nigeria is pleased to announce the next OrcaFlex Software Training, taking place this September 2015 in Lagos.

OrcaFlex is the world’s leading software package developed by Orcina for the dynamic analysis of offshore marine systems. It performs both static and dynamic analysis of a wide range of offshore systems, including all types of marine risers (rigid and flexible), global analysis, moorings, installation and towed systems.

Petrocarbon Engineering Limited is an independent firm established in 1997 to provide Offshore & Subsea project design and analysis services to the oil and gas industry. Our training and manpower development branch was created in response to the demand for capacity building and higher technical competency in the oil and gas industry.

About The Training

• This training gives you a comprehensive understanding of how to use the OrcaFlex software for model design and dynamic analysis of offshore marine and subsea systems
• Participants will learn how to model different types of risers, mooring lines and flexibles and how to analyze for fatigue damage and vortex induced vibration (VIV).
• Petrocarbon Engineers Ltd has trained several individuals on OrcaFlex in different parts of the world, including 12 engineers of Total E & P Nig. Ltd, in January 2015.

This is an OrcaFlex foundation course, aimed at new and/or inexperienced users who can expect to benefit from attendance in the following ways:

• Learn how to build models quickly and easily using the Line modelling feature.
• An introduction to the OrcaFlex software with simple model designs.
• Review industry level OrcaFlex model examples.
• Under the guidance of an experienced tutor, become a proficient OrcaFlex user in just 5 days!

A version of the software with static and dynamic calculation capabilities will be installed for all participants. We will also offer free monthly refresher courses to all participants after the training.
