Associate Director for Public InstitutionLocation: Abuja
The Associate Director for Public Sector Institutions works closely with other members of the Project Management Team to plan, organize, implement, monitor and evaluate the work of PLAN Health with Public Sector Institutions assuring the attainment of anticipated project results.
Responsibilities: - Serve as a member of the Project Management Team
- Supervise the work of up to three multi-functional teams (MFl) who work with public sector clients
- Maintain regular contact with c1ienl institution counte1Jlarts as part of the continuous quality improvement process.
- Work closely with the MFT team leaders. public sector institution counterparts and the M&E Associate Director to determine expected outcomes and outputs
- Regularly monitor the progress of work with public sector clients to assure effective and efficient work plan implementation
- To the external possible anticipate problems in work plan implementation and participate in addrl'SSing them Participate with ,be other Associate Directors and the Deputy Project, Director in developing monthly calendar of activities
The Associate Director will exercise impecable professional ethics, and will be aware of and adhere to MSH procurement integrity standards in all activities.
Supervision: Supervised by: Deputy Project Director
Supervised: 2 - 3 Technical Advisors/Multifunctional Team (MFT) Leaders
Qualifications: - University graduate - preferably in social sciences, business or health
- Minimum of five years experience in capacity building in Nigeria
- Experience working in or with public sector organizations, particularly in the health field
- Experience in supervising other professionals
- Experience in project management
- Experience in supervising other professionals
- Knowledge of PEPFAR-funded programs and experience in managing relationships with USAID mission preferred.
- Ability to work as a member of a team, and to contribute 10 developing a new project in a dynamic environment.
- Significant senior level work experience in institution capacity building across the areas of finance, human resources, governance, and planning, organizational development, and program management.
- Strong facilitation skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to produce results in diverse cultural social and language contexts.
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel within Nigeria regularly and potentially outside Nigeria, as required.
