We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Logistics Operations Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Objective
Oversee and streamline WIOCC Group’s logistics operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, efficient shipping, customs clearance and transportation across regions to enable smooth goods movement, cost optimisation and high customer service standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Global Logistics Management:
Oversee and manage all international logistics operations across air, sea and road freight
Ensure full compliance with global trade regulations, local customs laws and internal policies
Track and monitor shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries and minimising disruptions
Coordinate pre-shipment inspections and liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents and third-party logistics providers for seamless execution
Documentation & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure accurate and up-to-date logistics documentation including invoices, customs declarations, inspection reports, PODs and GRNs
Guarantee compliance with international and local customs regulations, including application and processing of EUCs and type approvals
Apply correct HS codes and tax rates to avoid discrepancies in duties, levies and other charges
Review and approve logistics purchase orders (POs), ensuring all supporting documents are properly attached
Vendor & Partner Management:
Identify, onboard and manage logistics partners globally, including freight forwarders and transportation providers
Negotiate contracts with logistics vendors to secure favorable terms, ensuring service quality, cost-efficiency and timely delivery
Conduct regular performance evaluations and maintain productive relationships with service providers
Champion the enhancement of the overall vendor and customer experience
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination:
Support stock management processes, ensuring timely replenishment and availability of inventory
Work with stock controllers and project managers to coordinate both local and international deliveries
Reconcile received goods and ensure timely system updates, including GRN creation and uploading PODs/delivery notes into NetSuite
Implement and standardise a reverse logistics process for returned goods from international vendors
Process Optimisation & Reporting:
Develop and implement logistics strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing costs
Generate and present regular logistics performance reports (weekly, monthly, annually) with actionable insights
Drive automation initiatives and real-time dashboard development for performance monitoring
Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance delivery timelines, customer satisfaction and operational scalability
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
Act as the escalation point for logistics and supply chain-related challenges, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions
Manage emergency logistics needs and provide quick turnaround solutions when disruptions occur
Sustainability & Innovation:
Promote and implement sustainable logistics practices to reduce environmental impact and support corporate ESG goals
Stay updated with evolving logistics technologies and trends to foster innovation within the supply chain
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with procurement to review supplier quotes and terms to ensure alignment and compliance prior to PO issuance
Collaborate with the finance team to verify documentation and recommend timely vendor payments
Support procurement initiatives, including vendor evaluation and sourcing activities
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Professional certifications and membership in logistics or supply chain such as CILT, CSCP, CIPS, or equivalent) is highly desirable
IT proficiency with experience in logistics management systems and ERP software (e.g., NetSuite) is an added advantage
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management within a multinational
Proven track record in managing end-to-end logistics operations, including international shipping and vendor management
In-depth understanding of HS code declarations, customs regulations and import/export procedures across borders
Expertise in warehouse and inventory management
Knowledge of carrier negotiation
Analytical skills to evaluate logistics performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Excellent planning, coordination and time management abilities
Holistic understanding of supply chain trends, challenges and best practices
Experience in managing logistics for telecom or technology-related industries is an added advantage
