Edo State College of Education is founded on the desire to achieve educational reforms in the State, utilizing the facilities of the pre-existing campuses in Abudu, Afuze, and Igueben. It is a reflection of the intentions, expectations, goals, standards, and requirements for quality education delivery. In line with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s desire and commitment to improve the quality of Education in Edo State, this multi-campus State College of Education System with Specialization in various fields was established.

Job Title: Provost
Location: Igueben, Edo
Duties / Responsibilities
The Provost as the Chief Academic Officer/Chief Executive Officer of the College shall be responsible for the day-to-day running and management of the College.
He/she shall provide academic and professional leadership in the execution of policy guidelines laid down by the Governing Council and as provided for in the College Law.
Shall maintain discipline, cater for the welfare of staff and students and perform such other functions as may be conferred upon him/her by the Law establishing the College/Governing Council.
Requirements
The Provost shall:
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in a relevant discipline to at least one programme in the College;
Be a registered and active member of a professional association in the field of Education;
Possess mandatorily, a professional teaching qualification, minimum of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE): be registered with TRCN as a Professional Teacher,
Not be above Fifty-nine (59) years of age at the time of application;
Possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification teaching/research experience in an institution of higher learning and must have held a senior teaching/research/top administrative post in an institution of higher learning: be a Chief Lecturer with at least five (5) years cognate experience:
Be Computer literate.
Tenure
The tenure of the Provost is a single tenure of 5 years as provided for by the College Law effective from the date of appointment.
Terms / Conditions of Service
The Principal Officers' terms/conditions of service are as contained in the law establishing the College, beginning from the effective date of the appointment and on such terms and conditions as maybe specified in the letter of appointment and/or as applicable to Edo State public service.
