We are a fast-growing African consultancy seeking PR & Comms Consultant with skills in Media Relations, Client Support, Content Development and Digital PR who will assist in advising clients' senior management on broad PR and communications strategy, media relations strategy and consumer engagement strategies.

Responsibilities
Client Support:
Assisting in developing and implementing PR strategies aligned with clients' goals and objectives.
Conducting research and analysis to gather insights into client industries, target audiences, and competitors.
Supporting the execution of PR plans, including media outreach, events, content creation, and social media activities.
Media Relations:
Cultivating and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and influencers.
Assisting in crafting compelling media pitches, press releases, and other communication materials.
Coordinating media interviews and managing media inquiries to ensure positive coverage for clients.
Content Development:
Creating engaging and persuasive content for various channels, including press releases, blog posts, and social media.
Collaborating with the creative team to develop multimedia content, such as videos and infographics.
Ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice across all communication materials.
Digital PR and Social Media:
Assisting in developing and implementing digital PR strategies to enhance online presence.
Managing social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
Monitoring social media trends and industry conversations, identifying opportunities for engagement.
Reporting and Analysis:
Monitoring and tracking media coverage, providing regular reports and analysis to clients.
Measuring the impact and effectiveness of PR campaigns using relevant metrics and tools.
Identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations based on data-driven insights.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborating with internal teams, such as account management and creative, to deliver integrated PR campaigns.
Supporting the Lead PR and Comms Consultant in project coordination and management.
Contributing to brainstorming sessions and providing creative ideas and insights.
PersonSpecification
Educational/Professional Qualifications: Tertiary education (e.g. Higher Diploma, Bachelor's) in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, is required;
Relevant certifications in PR or digital marketing (CIPR, PRCA, PRSA, NIPR and CIM) are preferred but not required.
Experience:
3 - 5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or related fields;
Experience in an agency or consultancy environment is highly desirable;
Experience in high-level copywriting and editing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Skills and Aptitudes:
Good understanding of PR principles, tactics, and industry trends.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling content for different platforms.
Knowledge of media relations practices, including media pitching, relationship building, and press release writing.
Familiarity with digital PR strategies, social media platforms, and community management.
Strong research and analytical skills to gather insights and support PR strategies.
Proficiency in using PR tools and software, such as media databases and social media management platforms.
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital channels (Twitter, Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, etc.)
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; result driven;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
