Job Title: Key Account Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
A Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing accounts and customers, focusing on building long-term partnerships, maximising customer lifetime value, and generating business opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Managing the full sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting through to closing sales.
Prospecting new clients in Nigeria.
Developing and maintaining excellent knowledge and understanding of our business, offerings, competitors, and industry.
Promoting company products and services while addressing or anticipating customers’ objectives.
Generating new leads and opportunities to meet or exceed KPIs set by management.
Gathering customer/project requirements and proposing necessary solutions, preparing or approving quotations/Requests for Proposals.
Negotiating quotations with customers, reviewing their feedback, and revising offers as necessary while adhering to Authority Matrix limits for pricing, discounts, and terms of payment.
Researching, identifying, and reporting on business opportunities in targeted markets.
Developing a robust pipeline of opportunities and revenue streams.
Customer Relations Management:
Promoting the image of the company by demonstrating professionalism, reliability and technical knowledgeable.
Expanding customers’ base by:
Proactively prospecting for new clients.
Tele sales activity to set up meetings and create new leads.
Conducting research to identify new accounts and customer needs.
Extensively following-up on existing leads generated from Exhibitions, Webinars and partners’ network.
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and Client relationships. Retaining clients and building strong, trusting relationships.
Use various styles to persuade/ negotiate appropriately.
Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the CRM system by providing updates on daily basis for accounts, leads, and activities (meetings held, calls and client interaction…etc.).
Coordinate with Implementation team and Customer projects technical deployment until handover
Assist Implementation team with project deployment requirements on ad hoc basis
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
5-7 years’ experience in related field
Languages:
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Technology:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
Competencies:
Have strong communication skills and negotiation skills
Highly organised and accomplished at solving problems and closing deals
Detail-oriented and able to prioritise
Strong academic background from a well-known University
Well Connected and ability to deliver
Able to work efficiently under pressure
