Job Title: Finance Officer

Summary
The finance officer will oversee the financial operations of Clearpay Microfinance Bank, ensuring effective management of the Bank’s financial resources, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely delivery of accurate financial reports.
The role holder will drive sound financial planning, budgeting, and control processes to support business growth, profitability, and sustainability.
Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with regulatory and internal reporting standards.
Ensure compliance with CBN, NDIC, tax, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
Manage the general ledger, reconciliation, and proper documentation of all financial transactions.
Monitor and interpret financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives.
Track performance against budget and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
Provide financial projections and modeling to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Treasury & Liquidity Management:
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment activities to ensure optimal liquidity.
Oversee loan disbursement, repayments, and fund utilization to maintain financial stability.
Implement cost-control and revenue-optimization measures.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Develop and maintain sound financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with statutory and internal audit recommendations.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and regulatory examinations.
Leadership & Team Management:
Supervise and develop the finance team to ensure effective performance and adherence to professional standards.
Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the department.
Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and financial efficiency.
Educational Qualification & Training
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional Qualification : Relevant certification (e.g., (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
Knowledge & Professional Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
Strong knowledge of CBN and NDIC reporting requirements.
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and treasury management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
