Job Summary
The primary objective of the Head of Commercial is to ensure sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and long-term success.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth strategy and expanding its market presence.
Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive revenue growth initiatives involving credit extension to MSMEs and large corporations, identifying new business opportunities, and optimizing existing operations.
Purpose of the role

You will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth strategy and expanding its market presence. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive revenue growth initiatives involving credit extension to MSMEs and large corporations, identifying new business opportunities, and optimizing existing operations.
Collaborate with the executive team to define the institution's growth objectives, strategies, and target markets.
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Develop and refine the institution's growth roadmap, outlining key initiatives, milestones, and performance metrics.
Continuously assess and refine the growth strategy based on market dynamics, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and market expansions to meet revenue targets.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
Lead negotiations and close strategic deals, acquisitions, or partnerships to enhance the institution's product offerings or market reach.
Sales and Marketing Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and oversight to the sales and marketing teams, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to acquire and retain customers, increase market share, and drive revenue growth.
Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and identify areas for improvement to optimize the institution's sales processes.
Customer Relationship Management:
Foster strong relationships with existing clients and key accounts, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service.
Drive customer-centric initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention rates.
Implement customer feedback mechanisms to gather insights, identify pain points, and drive continuous improvement.
Financial Performance Analysis:
Analyze financial data, market trends, and key performance indicators to assess the institution's financial performance.
Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with finance teams to develop financial models, forecasts, and business cases for growth initiatives.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and risk mitigation practices.
Stay updated on industry regulations, market trends, and emerging risks that may impact the institution's growth initiatives.
Implement robust internal controls and monitoring systems to identify and address potential risks.
Product Development and Innovation:
Collaborate with product teams to identify and develop lending products that meet market demands.
Introduce innovative lending solutions to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
Any other responsibilities as determined by the Line Manager.
Competencies and capabilities
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
10-15 years’ experience in executive leadership roles, preferably as a Head of Commercial or Assistant Commercial Lead, or similar positions within the financial or Fintech industry.
In-depth knowledge of credit institution operations, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful growth strategies, driving revenue growth, and achieving business targets.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen understanding of market dynamics and emerging trends.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, perform market research, and make data-driven decisions.
Strong negotiation and deal-making skills, with a track record of successful partnerships or acquisitions.
