Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Identify and prepare samples for testing
• Ensure safe handling, Labelling and storage of Chemicals.
• Enforce safety standards (PPE, waste disposal, emergency procedures.
• Preparation of Practical Lessons
• Set up apparatus, chemicals, and materials needed for science experiments
• Ensure equipment is ready and functional before classes.
• Maintenance of Laboratory Equipment & Materials
• Clean, calibrate, and safely store laboratory instruments.
• Carry out routine checks and report faulty equipment.
• Support During Practical Session
• Assist teachers and students with experiments.
• Provide guidance on correct use of lab equipment.
• Inventory & Record Keeping.
• Maintain stock of chemicals, glassware, and consumables.
• Keep accurate records of usage and requisitions
• Preparation of Laboratory Manuals/Instructions
• Help teachers design experiment sheets and safety guidelines.
• Supervision of Students in the Lab
• Monitor student activities to ensure safety and proper use of resources.
• General Laboratory Management
• Keep the laboratory neat, organized, and conducive to learning.
• Dispose of hazardous waste properly.

Requirements

• Minimum qualifications: HND/BSC + TRCN
• Minimum of 2-3 years working experience
• Excellent communication and people skills
