Job Title: FTTH Installation Engineer

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Lagos, and Rivers
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary 

• We are recruiting for the role of FTTH Installation Engineer to support upcoming project deployments.
• The FTTH Installation Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) installations from start to finish, including pre-installation checks, physical installation, testing, activation, and customer handover.
• The role requires strict adherence to MTN’s Quality Management System (QMS), Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, and customer experience benchmarks, with a focus on VIP customers and high-complexity installations.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct site readiness checks, including power status and optical light level verification
• Perform route surveys and obtain homeowner consent
• Execute drop cable routing, termination, drilling, and fiber splicing using approved methods
• Install ONT devices with proper cable management for safety and aesthetics
• Verify signal strength and link budget using optical power meters
• Provision and activate ONT, and conduct speed tests
• Adhere strictly to MTN SOPs, Quality Management System (QMS), and HSE standards
• Ensure full PPE compliance and safe work practices, including working at heights
• Accurately update WFM systems for job closure and billing
• Capture and submit required installation photos and reports
• Educate customers on ONT usage and basic troubleshooting
• Confirm service performance and obtain customer sign-off
• Account for all issued tools, PPE, and installation materials
• Return unused items and report damaged or defective equipment promptly

Required Skills & Certifications

• Minimum qualification of ND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Proven FTTH Installation Experience
• Competency in Working at Heights & Safe Tool Usage
• Fiber Splicing & Optical Testing Expertise
• Mandatory HSE Certification & Compliance.

Salary

• N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
