Job Title: Head of Finance

Job Summary

• The Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership for the organization, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective cost management across all manufacturing operations.
• This role is responsible for driving profitability, optimizing working capital, and supporting the MD with data-driven insights for decision-making.
• The ideal candidate must have solid experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of production costing, inventory management, and operational finance.
• This role is ideal for a commercially minded finance leader who understands manufacturing operations and can translate numbers into actionable business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in line with business goals.
• Lead all finance functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, audit, and treasury.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, including BOMs, standard costing, variance analysis, and yield monitoring.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Drive cost control initiatives across production, procurement, logistics, and overheads.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
• Ensure full compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and statutory filings.
• Partner with Operations to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance margins.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support pricing, capital investment, and expansion decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, regulators, and external advisers.

Key Deliverables

• Accurate monthly management reports with performance analysis.
• Annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with business strategy.
• Costing models and variance reports for all product lines.
• Improved gross margins through effective cost management.
• Clean audit reports and full regulatory compliance.
• Strong cash flow position and optimized working capital.
• Finance policies, SOPs, and control frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, ICAN or equivalent) is required.
• 7–10 years’ experience in finance, with at least 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
