With business operations and offices in Bayelsa State and Abuja, Nigeria, our client is looking at Increasing its workforce in tine with the changing trends in its operating environment.
As a result, our client is currently seeking to engage the services of dynamic, intelligent and knowledgeable individuals to fill the following vacancies/positions:
Job Title: Hydrographic/Dredging Supervisor
The successful candidate will specialize in precise positioning, data acquisition and processing in marine environments and the quantification of dredged sand by the used of specialized surveying equipment.
The role involves measuring and mapping the world's underwater surfaces and studying the morphology (construction) of the seabed, sand search and analysts to determine the nature of sand available and estimation of quantity, sand field survey and planning. Additionally, he will be measuring dredged materials in the sand field, surveying of dumpsites and determination of water flow and sand field mapping. The role also demands an understanding of and consideration for environmental issues.
Summary of Duties
Using specialised technical software, global and some terrestrial positioning systems, sonar and echo sounders to provide data far the production of nautical charts and maps
Using specialised technical software and geographical information systems (GIS) to manage the integration, processing and presentation of data to clients;
Use of specialized equipment like the Total Station for the computation of dredged sand Managing projects, both onshore and off share, as vessel-based managers;
Working in a wide range of differing situations and applications. seabed mining/dredging; oil and gas exploration; the provision of navigational charts; dredging production chart, sand field site planning and chart and the positioning of dredging location;
Sourcing information on seabed type, water movements and waves;
For those working onshore, responding to technical queries from onshore engineering teams and problem-solving for colleagues working offshore;
Reviewing company procedures and software projects, and providing feedback on courses and in-house training;
Working as part of a team of technical specialists.
Qualification/Experience
B.Sc or HND in survey or hydrography or other related qualification
A minimum of 4 years in practical experience in related field, specially in dredging and other field of survey
