Job Summary

• We are seeking qualified and experienced Crew Boat Captains to command Crew Surfer vessels, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transfer of personnel and cargo to and from offshore installations, barges, and jack-up rigs.
• The Captain will be responsible for the safety of all personnel on board, the security of the vessel, and the protection of the marine environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain full authority and responsibility for the navigation, stability, and seaworthiness of the vessel at all times.
• Expertly handle the vessel during personnel transfer, supply runs, and anchor handling operations as required.
• Ensure full compliance with the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS), International Safety Management (ISM) code, and relevant NIMASA/International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations.
• Maintain a safe navigational watch in accordance with STCW requirements, especially during night transfers and in congested Niger Delta waters.
• Supervise and manage the deck crew, ensuring they perform their duties safely and efficiently.
• Oversee the safe loading, stowage, and discharge of deck cargo to ensure vessel stability is not compromised.
• Act as the Emergency Coordinator during drills and actual emergencies, leading firefighting, man-overboard, and abandon-ship procedures.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, checklists, and reports as required by the company and regulatory bodies.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Certificate of Competency (C.O.C.) Minimum requirement Officer of the Watch (OOW) Nautical or higher (Chief Mate/Master).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Captain on Crew Boats/Supply Vessels in the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry.
• Familiarity with the waterways, terminals, and offshore fields in the Niger Delta is highly advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong leadership and crisis management skills.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
• Proficient in radar navigation, Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), and Dynamic Positioning (if applicable).
• Ability to work under pressure for extended periods.
• STCW Basic Safety Training Certificate, including: (i) Basic Fire Fighting, (ii) Personal Survival Techniques, (iii) Elementary First Aid, (iv) Personal Safety and (v) Social Responsibility
• A valid and up-to-date Seaman’s Discharge Booklet with relevant sea time proof.
• A valid Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a NIMASA-approved hospital/clinic.
• NIMASA Endorsement (For Foreign C.O.C. Holders). If the C.O.C. was obtained outside Nigeria, a valid NIMASA Endorsement must be presented.
• Additional Certification (In the quest for obtaining C.O.C.)
• An updated CV detailing sea time, vessel types worked on (specifically Crew Boats/Surfers), and experience in the Oil & Gas sector.

Remuneration

• ₦1,180,000 (During Time-On, and Half of it During Time-Off)
• Employment Benefits: Pension contribution & Comprehensive HMO coverage for the Personnel and their immediate family.
