Job Title: Cashier (Canteen Services)
Location: Warri, Delta

Job Summary
The Cashier will serve as the primary point of contact for customers making purchases within the canteen. The role involves receiving payments, operating cash registers and POS systems, issuing receipts, balancing daily sales records, and providing courteous assistance to customers.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Receiving and processing cash, POS, transfer, and other approved payments from customers.
Accurately recording all sales transactions and issuing receipts where necessary.
Operating cash registers, POS terminals, and other payment processing equipment.
Balancing cash drawers and reconciling daily sales at the end of each shift.
Maintaining accurate records of transactions and preparing daily sales reports.
Assisting customers with inquiries regarding menu items, pricing, and payment procedures.
Ensuring all transactions are processed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Reporting discrepancies, shortages, or suspicious transactions to management immediately.
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the cashier's workstation.
Working closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth customer service operations.
Supporting inventory and stock monitoring activities when required.
Ensuring confidentiality and security of cash and financial information.
Performing any other duties assigned by management to support canteen operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Minimum qualification: Ordinary National Diploma (OND) only with 1-3 years experience.
Applicants with qualifications below OND or above OND are not eligible for this position.
Experience:
Previous experience as a cashier, sales attendant, or customer service representative is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Fresh OND graduates with the required skills are encouraged to apply.
