Job Title: Female Chef (Live-in)

Job Summary

• A private elderly couple in Lagos is seeking to hire an experienced and reliable female chef for a live-in position.
• The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of elderly nutrition and dietary requirements, with the ability to prepare balanced, healthy, and appetizing meals tailored to senior adults.
• In addition to cooking responsibilities, the role also includes light housekeeping and home tidying duties within shared living spaces. The employers’ bedrooms are strictly exempt from the chef’s cleaning responsibilities.
• The family currently has a housekeeper who comes in twice weekly for deep cleaning and laundry support. On the remaining days, the chef will be responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness and tidiness of the home.

Key Responsibilities
Culinary Responsibilities:

• Prepare fresh, nutritious, and well-balanced meals daily for an elderly couple.
• Develop meal plans suitable for elderly dietary and health needs.
• Prepare meals with consideration for:
  • Low sodium
  • Low sugar
• Heart-healthy diets
• Soft or easily digestible foods where required
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
• Handle grocery inventory, food storage, and kitchen organization efficiently.
• Accommodate special dietary instructions and medical-related food restrictions where necessary.
• Prepare occasional light snacks and beverages as needed.

Housekeeping Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of common areas of the home.
• Clean and organize the kitchen and dining areas daily.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and maintain shared living spaces as required.
• Ensure the home remains neat and presentable between the housekeeper’s scheduled visits.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a private chef or cook in a household setting.
• Strong understanding of elderly nutrition, dietary planning, and healthy meal preparation.
• Female candidate preferred for this role.
• Must be comfortable with live-in arrangements.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and support with home upkeep.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen management.
• Calm, respectful, patient, and emotionally mature personality.
• Must be trustworthy, organized, and proactive.
• Good communication skills and professional conduct.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Culinary training or certification is an added advantage.
• Previous experience working with elderly individuals or families is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of special diets and nutrition for seniors is strongly preferred.

Salary
Competitive and negotiable (Salary: N150,000 - N200,000 Monthly) based on experience and suitability.
