The Program Officer Strategic Information (Monitoring), with oversight from the Director Strategic Information is responsible for coordinating, handling, and troubleshooting all issues with regards to program-level monitoring and reporting.
Under the supervision of the Director Strategic Information, this position will be responsible for the following;
Key Areas Of Responsibility
Developing and reviewing the ACTION program indicator reference guide in accordance with guidance from the USG SI team
Participating in the development and periodic review of program reporting protocol
Ensuring compliance of sites/regions to weekly indicator reporting from the hubs, and monthly from the satellites
Receiving and organizing weekly/monthly indicator reports from the hubs/satellites onto the network shared folder
Preparing monthly indicator reports: Internal, CDC/USG, GON Preparing PEPFAR Annual and semi-annual progress reports
Preparing any other required indicator report documents as directed
Organizing periodic data quality assessments in collaboration with the regional SI officers
Troubleshooting program monitoring indicator quality issues
Conducting trainings and re-trainings on program indicators across all thematic units
Providing technical assistance and guidance on program indicator reporting
Participating in the review of data collection tools (DCTs) in coordination with relevant thematic units
Working with the HMIS unit in harmonizing program, and patient-level indicators.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in a relevant field of study. An MPH or other related postgraduate degree, would be an added advantage
Must possess 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of health, reproductive health or HIV/AIDS programming Preference will be given to candidates with experience in health program monitoring
Supervisory and leadership skills
Detail oriented with good work output
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Candidate must function well in a team setting
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications especially MS Excel and MS Access. Candidates without appreciable proficiency in this regard need not apply
Ability to meet deadlines.
