Role Summary/Purpose
  • The role basically acts as the Lead Assessment Engineer.
  • The team is looking for a lead engineer with proven track record & experience in power generation plant technologies, commissioning, or O&M that is seeking a challenging & rewarding career path leading the Total Plant Solution (TPS) engineering assessment team in MEA.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and perform assessments for power facilities and equipment in MEA
  • Work closely with regional and global teams (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generators, Boilers, Controls) to carry out essential tasks related to do a baseline of customer plant KPIs
  • Work with other Total Plant Solution cross functional teams to determine optimum performance and predict potential areas of vulnerability, points of failure, and identify improvement areas
  • Collect plant assessment data, real time performance issues at the customer sites as well as with our development and strategy engineers
  • Can prepare and present assessment report to commercial and technical leadership and provide feedback to GE leadership on customer satisfaction, assessment of current tools and future opportunities
  • Provide technical competencies throughout the process and work closely with fulfillment teams in assuring a smooth handover and execution with mitigated risk plans
  • Embrace and drive a culture of safety and integrity and work in a boundary-less fashion and fostering the early detection of quality issues and risks as well as promoting lean processes that drive fulfillment excellence
  • This position spans a wide range of OEM and non-OEM technologies across combined cycle gas and thermal power plants requiring high level of customer interaction and exposure to GE technical Leadership
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and in depth knowledge of general turbomachinery and power plant building blocks. Experience with power plant design and upgrades, including system analysis and testing
  • Detailed oriented and technical skills with an ability to capture mission-related details without compromising speed of delivery
  • Experience successfully communicating with leaders and customers, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with regional and global footprint
  • Mobility within MEA is a must (At least 50% Travel)
  • A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume)
  • Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria
Desired Characteristics:    
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience managing complex projects in a multi-disciplinary approach
  • Experience in working with regional or global engineering teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Fluency in Arabic language is a plus
