Purpose of Role

  • The Operations Finance Manager will provide financial leadership, Controls, and commercial drive across our breweries as well as provide key support to Plant managers and key stakeholders in the execution of transformational change.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • The role holder holds a significant level of leadership responsibility with:
  • Three (3) direct reports and a team of seven (7) people and strong functional influence locally and across Supply Operations and Finance.

  • Building and reinforcing the financial management, controls, reporting & performance capability of brewery supply finance teams across the Guinness Nigeria Plc’s three (3) breweries.
  • Ability to deputise for the Supply Finance Director at all levels

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that world class Business Performance Measurement (BPM), Risk &Opportunities (R & O) and strategic planning processes are in operation at our breweries and supply chain function.
  • Provide commercial and analytical support to all key decisions in breweries
  • Support key business projects from inception through delivery – providing both financial and general business ideas, advice, support and controls.
  • Proactively identifying potential areas of strategic and tactical opportunity in addition to working with the Brewery and Supply leadership teams to develop beneficial actions for the business.
  • Ensure world class product costing systems and variance reports are in place across breweries which will create greater awareness and timely interventions based on robust information.
  • Ensure Controls and Risk Management (CARM) standards are adhered to in a sustainable way across the breweries.

Skills Qualifications and Experience required

  • Graduate calibre with minimum 8 years post qualification commercial financial experience within FMCG, with a proven track record of practical application of broad based financial skills alongside in depth operational knowledge.
  • Professional qualification is mandatory (ICAN/ACCA/ACA)
  • Proficient SAP and strong excel modelling expertise is a mandatory
  • Knowledge of the Manufacturing/Supply environment would be an added advantage
  • Ability to effectively engage Senior Business leaders with highly effective communication skills.
  • Extensive project management skills, both as a leader and key team member.
  • Strong background in continuous improvement and exposure to implementing best practice in operation and financial management.
