Job Description
  • The Lead Buyer role is to deliver effective procurement solutions to Work Winning, Major Project Delivery teams and the Business as a whole.
  • The Lead Buyer is responsible for supporting a FPSO project. To help improve performance and reduce cost and business risk significantly. Moreover, this role will manage the supply of goods and services across part of a Business Unit in order that financial savings and performance improvements are made through a more strategic approach to supply chain management and a more integrated approach with both customers & suppliers (internal & external)
  • Report to : Project Supply Chain Manager
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that quality control and testing requirements of equipment and materials are listed in the contractual documentation
  • Establish bidders lists required for the bidding process
  • Prepare and issue Request for Quotation document
  • Ensure follow-up with bidders during the bidding period
  • Receive, register and distribute the quotations received as per procedures and project instructions
  • Proceed with commercial evaluation of quotations received
  • Interacts with other procurement disciplines, engineering and project control
  • Lead bid clarification meetings and pre-award meetings; when required invite bidders to participate to these meetings, write and distribute minutes of meeting
  • Prepare, in collaboration with the project procurement manager, award recommendation
  • Writes, upon receipt of commitment approvals, purchase orders to suppliers
  • Administer purchase orders under my responsibility
  • Ensure that suppliers meet the contractual requirements
  • Inform the project procurement manager of any problem with a supplier that may have an impact on delivery schedule or committed amount
  • To comply with all safety related rules, policies, directives and procedures authorized by senior management.
  • To take reasonable care of oneself and of other people who may be affected by one’s actions and omissions at work.
  • To co-operate with the management of the company, so far as is reasonable, regarding compliance with any statutory provisions.
