Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by an Oil & Gas to recruit a Materials Coordinator for its operations in Nigeria

Job description
The Materials Coordinator will have the responsibility for the acquisition and inventory management of materials required for the Company. He/she is to report to the Materials Manager

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
  • The Materials Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the activities of Material Coordination (MC) ensuring that they are carried out in efficient manner in line with Company and project procedures
  • Mentoring of local MC team, developing and improving the understanding of material control and traceability requirements for large Oil and Gas Construction projects
  • Monitoring and receiving of material deliveries again, purchase orders and packing lists segregation and location of materials updating the UID register list identifying potential shortages and ensuring the implementation of corrective action by the appropriate department
  • Maintenance of traceability records and updating of material movement via materials matrix data base
  • Preparation and monitoring of NCR and OSD and ensuring that replacement materials are supplied or corrective action is taken as necessary
  • Raising of the MIV issue documents for the requested materials via MRV, coordinating immediate delivery to the sites in alignment with fabrication schedule
  • Daily liaison with fabrication shop supervisors and CNC operators
  • Ensuring that delivered materials and equipment are in compliance with documentation purchase orders, Requisitions and Free issued materials at the warehouse/ lay down areas and their further delivery to work sites
  • Review of reports from the QA/QC department
  • Monitoring of all incoming and outgoing materials
  • Monitoring of backload and Offcuts materials returned to stock
  • Monitoring of hired materials and their return to vendors
  • Liaison with the Fabrication department, procurement, warehouse, sub-contractors, client team, SI logistics, customs SIMCO, vendors and freight forwarders
  • Awareness and adherence to Company and Project specific HSEQ, QA/QC, material control processes and procedures

Qualifications and Experience
  • 5-10 years in oil and gas MC
  • Must have strategic, operational, financial and management experience
  • Must be able to mentor other Nationals and local staff effectively
  • Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain is a plus
  • Previous experience in Africa is a plus
