Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a large Group in the Oil & Gas sector to recruit an Estimator for its operations in Nigeria

Job Title: Estimator

Location: Lagos

Job description
The Estimator will have the responsibility of preparing and correlating of estimation packages for existing and future projects

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
  • The Estimator is responsible for minimising the costs of the project enhancing value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality as specified by the contract and/or building regulations
  • Determination of project cost and timescales
  • Review of project revenues giving consideration to labour costs, material costs, equipment rental, manufacturing locations, facility costs and required permits and licensing
  • To work closely with the Commercial and Project Management teams to ensure project compliance with all financial and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintenance of the profit margin and resolve issues pertaining to changes in the original estimates
  • Monitoring of current pricing and negotiation of better rates for long term and large scale projects
  • Monitoring of the current Union labour rates in the areas of engagement to include current labour numbers and norms in the estimates
  • Building and sustenance of healthy relationships with the suppliers and equipment vendors

Qualifications and Experience
  • Must possess up to 15 years experience within the engineering functions of the Oil & Gas sectors
  • Must have overseas/ African work experience
  • Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office tools
  • Must be acquainted with EDMS- Team Binder or similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a team-oriented environment
