Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading Oil and Gas Company to recruit its Commercial Director for its Oil and Gas operations in Nigeria

Job description
The Commercial Director will have the responsibility of optimising of all commercial issues within the company. He/she is to report to the Managing Director

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
  • The Commercial Director is responsible for identifying, minimising and responding to all business risks, maximising of business opportunities for the Company alongside the Managing Director
  • To ensure that all commercial processes and procedures are in place and are adhered to
  • To ensure that all contracts, sub contracts and joint ventures are adequately reviewed and that they meet the Company’s requirements before signature
  • To ensure that all business risks are identified, quantified and minimised to the lowest degree possible
  • To ensure that the Company’s risk register is maintained and reviewed regularly
  • To ensure that the risk registered are prepared and reviewed regularly on all projects and at the Company level
  • To ensure that all stake holders are made aware of the business risks and opportunities
  • To assume full responsibility for business acquisition
  • To review all major bids prior to submission
  • To ensure that effective commercial processes and procedures are in place at project, corporate and company level
  • To ensure that claims and contract variations are negotiated successfully and adequately documented
  • To create and sustain a working culture that places high emphasis on safety and environment at all levels of the company
  • To create relationships of trust and reliability with the Company’s clientele
  • To ensure the Company selects, develops and deploys trained and competent within the Commercial function with dual focus on maximising use of Nigerian Nationals with world class expertise
  • To create commercial strategies and plans for each operational area to facilitate the growth of the business in accordance with the Company’s developmental plan
  • Ensuring the compliance of all bids with the Nigerian Content Act
  • Ensuring the highest levels of transparency and integrity are maintained within the business
  • To build and sustain the reputation of the Company is the Industry leader within the sectors of operation
  • Provision of Support to the Managing Director as required

Qualifications and Experience
  • Preferably a degree in relevant Commercial or Business management disciplines
  • Must have a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards
  • Must have strong leadership skills and able to function in a multicultural environment
  • High level of integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a significant track record of success within an operations focused environment
  • Must be performance oriented with strong motivation
  • Excellent time management and delegation skills
