Requirements
The candidate must have/satisfy these Qualifications/Experience requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (First Class or 2.1) and an M.Sc degree in Geophysics or other relevant science fields (Geology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science) – with emphasis on Marine Geophysics and/or Exploration Geophysics. A phd degree is an added advantage;
  • 13 years’ industry experience in full cycle Land Processing, standard geophysical software and GIS as applied to large seismic data sets. Multi-component and Marine expertise would be a bonus;
  • Professional experience from the seismic industry, with ideally a regional network both with processing companies and operators;
  • Field experience with seismic data acquisition and survey design;
  • Profound experience with advance imaging processing, broadband processing, and Linux operating systems; and processing of different types of marine-acquired multichannel seismic data, including 3D, 2D HR and UHR seismic data;
  • Ability to script in Shell, and program in Python and C++ and proficiency in use of different software packages for seismic processing;
  • A proven track record of successfully working with challenging data sets from the Nigerian Continental Shelf is essential. Experience with geological interpretation of seismic data is an advantage; and
  • The ability to:
    • Work independently to evaluate and develop processing sequences and undertake processing of different types of seismic data, in particular multi-channel 2D/3D/4D HR and UHR seismic data;
    • Collaborate closely with geologists, contribute to the preparation of survey reports, and ensure compliance with QMS and HSE requirements;
    • Supervise, write and prepare seismic data processing reports; deliver results presentations and frequently interact with clients, contractors and in house departments on technical issues; and
    • Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of geophysical expertise and contribute to knowledge transfer to other staff members.
