Job Title: Marketing Lead Sub-Saharan Africa

Position Summary
  • To lead a team of marketing colleagues supporting the Block Buster and Managed Portfolios² at Point of Prescription (POP) and Point of Sale (POS) across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver brand Revenue and IBA within agreed OpEx budget
  • Forecast brand performance and track progress towards target
  • Prioritize Block Buster and Managed Portfolio within the key Therapy Areas (TA) across Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Invest A&P directly behind the Block Buster brands in the highest potential markets
  • Ensure appropriate marketing support for Managed Portfolio² across Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Identify and leverage synergies across markets
  • Develop Strategy, Tactics, Execution & Metrics (STEM) plans for each TA and their subsequent Block Buster Managed Portfolio brands
  • Align with Regional brand plans but specific to target markets
  • Ensure there is a defined digital Tactical Matrix to support each TA
  • Provide local insights and brand feedback to Regional Marketing teams
  • Ensure that programs and materials supplied are fit for purpose
  • Select best-fitting modules from Regional content with (minimal) adaptation/trans-creation as needed
  • Manage local agencies for trans-creation within guidelines and budget
  • Ensure operational excellence in the execution of the STEM plans in-market
  • Close collaboration with Country Sales Teams to ensure the Field Force Equation is well defined.
  • Appropriate monitoring of KPIs in close partnership with the Sales Teams
  • Coach and develop Marketing colleagues to achieve High Performance PEH Culture
  • Member of the PEH AfME Marketing Leadership forum
  • Drive evolution of commercial model ensuring deployment of multi channel communication enhancing overall customer engagement
  • Partner with the PEH Regional Marketing Lead to align on plans to maximize growth and penetration of blockbusters and Managed Portfolio
Position Responsibilities
Accountable:
  • Brand & STEM plans for all Block Buster¹ Brands and Managed Portfolio²
  • Key Sales Materials to support promotion of brands:
    • Regulatory and Medical review required by Marketing are the owner
  • Management of Marketing team to GPM standards:
    • Including people development and IDP
Shared Accountability:
  • Prioritization of portfolio in conjunction with Commercial Leads, Marketing Team and Country Manager
  • SSA Op Plan in conjunction with Commercial Leads, Marketing team and Country Manager:
    • Including long range and annual forecasts
    • A&P forecasts
  • Ongoing review of forecasts and adjustment of LE as required:
    • In conjunction with Finance, Commercial Leads and Country Manager

Education and Experience
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of marketing experience
  • Minimum 2 years people management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing related discipline; master degree or MBA desired
  • Previous related experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry preferred
